The idea behind the Ram 1500 is to be able to go anywhere, do anything, and haul everything, and it succeeds on all three. Even the stock model pulls nearly six long tons and can fit more than a full long ton in the bed. The Ram 1500's towing and hauling capacity is near the top of its class.

With the regular optional Cummins diesel engine, the Ram 2500 pulls 9.07 long tons while carrying 1.82 long tons in the bed. This diesel engine is optional in all trim packages. However, all that raw power to work doesn't come with any sacrifices in the luxury department. Each trim package has its own comfortable features that give the cab a true 21st-century feel. The Ram 3500 is designed along the same lines as the 2500. They're both heavy-duty trucks made to pull the heaviest loads in their class, but the Ram 3500 out-pulls its small cousin, easily towing an astonishing 16.78 long tons while carrying 3.45 long tons in the bed. In the Ram 3500, the Cummins picks up a turbocharger that helps crank out nearly 1,100 pound-feet of torque.
